In a time of rapid social, economic, and religious transformation, it is no longer safe to be considered different.
Côen Everard, an orphaned fox spirit, has been on the run since the age of 13. Dragged from town to town by his long-time companion Mao, Côen is only now starting to discover the twisted depths of his forgotten past.
Held together by half truths and shared illusions, these two unlikely companions must try to survive the everyday life of running an apothecary, (scarily) obsessive family members, and their growing attraction for each other.
